Husband Needs To Work
(a mom, obviously the case with your daughter is not what we are talking about here. We are talking about people with chronic employment problems.
---Jed on 8/19/13)
My apologies Jed for missing the obvious. I had not read all that was posted here, I had initially responded to what I saw at the top of the list of blogs. My mistake.
However, my daughter had what some, looking from the outside, might call chronic employment problems, given the sorts of judgments that are out there, based primarily on superficial, yet partial evidence.

Husband Needs To Work
Jed, I agree that a loving parent puts the childs needs and safety first. My daughter did not want to quit for that reason, but I did not want to see a very bad situation become worse. When several men would gang up on her, cornering her, I could not in good conscience tell her to stay. Id rather assume responsibility for a time than allow her to be abused. She quickly got another job, 2 in fact.

Husband Needs To Work
"Unless they had another job already lined up, any reason for quitting is a stupid reason". Oh really? As a mom, I encouraged my daughter with 2 small children to quit her job when she was sexually harrassed. I have no doubt that was the right thing to do, trusting that she'd eventually be able to find work. Personally, I'd rather assume some of her responsibilities than see her in danger.

My Son Just Doesn't Like Me
Gina, Is your son married? How old is he? Sometimes our grown kids get so involved trying their wings they don't stop to consider our feelings, or perhaps they've developed interests and values they know we wouldn't approve. My son married and it has greatly effected our relationship. They say a son is a son till he takes a wife. I think there is a LOT to that. Maybe that's how it should be. ??
