I Am In A Bad Marriage
I lived through a similar situation but mine escalated to the point I had to leave town or one of us would have ended up dead.
If yours is volatile you may not have a choice.
If not, your husband may just need a wake up call.
Is there a way you can separate for a time so that you can heal and he can see how life would be without you?
If neither of you want each other back at the end of the separation then it wasn't meant to be.
Regardless, it's your decision, and scripture supports you not taking him back.
Eitherway you are the one that will have to live with the consequences.
I pray God strengthens you whatever you decide.
Women Cover Their Heads
I agree with Char.
1 Cor 11:16
16 But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
This basically means if you are going to argue or dispute over the issue it's not important.
If a woman wants to cover her head fine, if another woman doesn't want to cover her head that's fine too.
It wasn't a law or commandment but a "custom" of that day.
Prayer And Praise Blog
I too think it's a wonderful idea.
Please, let us pray for each other.
The scripture is being fulfilled because truly the love of many has waxed cold.
Therefore we as Christians (Christ's) need each other.
Committed Adultery In The Past
This is a tough one.
What you need to do is pray about it.
I'm sure things have happened in the lives of posters (including me) on this site that they have not told anyone because they are not proud of it.
You should know your husband by now.
Would it hurt him more if you told him?
If you've asked God, the person you committed adultery with (if possible) to forgive you and have forgiven yourself that may be all that's necessary.
You can post anything here but God knows your heart.
If you decide to tell him it will affect you and your husbands relationship, not us.
Let Jesus lead you.
Know you are not alone, I will pray with you.
Commit Adultery And Go To Heaven
Mark 3:21-30 Matthew 12:31-32
Some scribes (who thought they were righteous) said Jesus was Beelzebub (the ruler of demons) because Jesus had cast demons out of a man. Jesus said ALL sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter, BUT he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit NEVER has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation,' because they said, 'Jesus had an unclean spirit'"
Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come"
I Need A Christian Friend
Add me to your list of friends.
Though I'm not a babe in Christ there are times when I need lifting.
I feel everyone on this site must have been seeking spiritual help or they would not have joined.
Let us all agree to pray for each other.
You can't get too much prayer.
I don't care what denomination you belong to as long as you believe in Jesus as our savior.
Love you all.
Idea Adam And Eve Ate An Apple
#1. It wasnt an apple, it was forbidden fruit.
In Latin, the words for 'apple' and for 'evil' are similar in the singular (malus apple, malum evil) and identical in the plural (mala). This may have influenced the apple's becoming interpreted as the biblical 'forbidden fruit'.
#2. Jesus - Propitiation, atoning sacrifice, sin offering, whatever word you want to use means our sins were transferred to him.
1 John 2:1-2
2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 4:9-10
10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
What Scriptures Support Tithing
I will concede to you if you can give any scripture in the New Testament to support not paying the tithe since it was "enacted before" and therefore is "apart from" the law?
1 Cor 14 Paul refers to God not being the author of confusion and things being done decently and in order in the Church.
If no set order to giving is instituted how do you feel the Church would survive?
Even with tithing in place there are members who hang onto the coattails of other givers.
They use the same arguments some of you use in this post.
However, I do agree that if giving is not from the heart it doesnt matter how much it is.
Regardless, I wont stop.
Wrong For Christians To Drink
I'll add him to my prayer list.
I agree some people's bodies won't allow them to drink even a little therefore they should not imbibe.
The question is, should those that can't judge those that can?
Though I wasn't an alcoholic, I stopped drinking years ago "not because I felt it was a sin" but because I got loose lips when I drank.
I said things I wouldn't normally say and did things I wouldn't normally do.
Not bad things.
Tried playing basketball with young relatives, fell and scraped myself up.
Tried dancing and really felt it in my muscles the next day, i.e. how low can you go.
Did I have a good time with my family?
Yes, but I paid for it:)
What Scriptures Support Tithing
Donna66, I pray these help.
1 Cor 9:7-14
Excerpts - Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges?
who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof?
or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
11 Cor 11:8
1 Tim 5:18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward
What Scriptures Support Tithing
Its funny how some pick and choose which teachings of Christ in the gospels they believe is applicable to us.
They agree most of Christ teachings are for us, however, because they are predisposed against tithing they make excuses.
Tithing began before the law was introduced. The Law regulated the ten percent.
Abraham tithed to Melchizedek, 400 years before the time of Moses and the Law, according to Romans 4:12 we are to walk in the footsteps of the faith of Abraham.
We give tithes like Abraham, not by the Law but by faith.
If the people of God paid tithes before the Law, and tithes under the Law, shouldn't we, who live by grace, be doing any less when we have a better covenant?
Obama State Of The Union
I feel a true christian would be more interested in saving souls and less interested in politics.
This doesn't mean don't vote.
As far as the government is concerned Republicans and Democrats have made good and bad decisions for the country.
What we need to do is PRAY MORE and COMPLAIN LESS.
It reminds me of the children of Israel.
THEY WERE HAPPY WHEN THINGS WERE GOING GOOD BUT AS SOON AS THINGS DIDN'T GO THE WAY THEY THOUGHT IT SHOULD THEY STARTED TO MURMUR AND COMPLAIN, to their HURT and sometimes to their DEATH.
We SHOULD learn a valuable lesson from them.
Modern Day Judaizer
God has given different laws to different people at different times.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8), but this scripture refers to God's character and nature, not to His laws for men.
A careful study of scripture will guide you regarding the Old Testament (OT) laws Jesus fulfilled in the New Testament (NT).
To grasp my concept please read the scriptures.
OT Gen. 17:9-14 Required
NT I Cor. Gal. 5:1-8 No longer required
OT Ex. 40:12-16 Required
NT Heb. 7:11-18 No longer required
OT Lev. 1:1-17 Required
NT Heb. 10:1-18 No longer required

What Is A Godly Man
The man that I would want as head of my house would have these characteristics:
1. Loves the Lord, which means to obey his word.
2. Loves, honors and respects family and me.
3. Provides for his family.
4. Has integrity, shows compassion and charity for his fellow man.
5. Enjoys working in Gods Army.
6. Enjoys attending and participating in church.
7. Not stingy, pays tithes, offerings and gives to charities.
8. Has pride in himself -not worldly pride- but the way he looks, smells and acts.
9. Takes care of his business.
10. Not lazy.
11. Allows me to be a help to him.
JUST TO NAME A FEW:)
Wrong For Christians To Drink
Its a matter of temperance. If the wine was just grape juice the bishop could drink some like the deacon.
I Tim 3:2,3,8
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach,
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre, but patient, not a brawler, not covetous,
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre,
Romans 14:21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.
Whether food or drink if it offends dont eat/drink it in front of a weak brother.
