Forgiveness is love..love that christians show and do. If you have prayed about this situation proceed the way God told you and don't question what He says and ask a man if that makes sense. The bible says God hates divorce.. so if you guys get consuling He'll help you get it better than it was before. You could pick up a new one but is that God's best for you or your best for you.
