Tithes From The Gross Or Net
When my husband and I tithe on his check, we tithe of the gross income, because that is the first fruit of his labor. Trust me, it is
always a little scary when you look at what you brought home and then divide up the bills
and what not, but I can honestly say that we have never went without anything when tithing off the gross income. I may not get the things I want, but Lord makes sure that we get the things we need.

Offended By Women Pastors
Yes, I do take the Bible literally. If you look in 1 Timothy 3:5, "(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)" and then in verse 6, "Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil." I feel that if he is a young man, then for his testimony and character purposes, he should be married before he pastors, but if it is an older man who wife has passed on, then I see nothing wrong with him pastoring a church.

Should Public Schools Be Christian
I think the real question should be, why should we have public schools? I think that we should go back to teaching creation in the school and take out all the lies in the text books about evolution in the school books. I am afraid to say that you will never see christian teaching in our public schools today. The public school is teaching religion, but a false religion. Christian teaching goes against evolution, so therefore you won't see any christian teaching, but you want to see christian religious teaching in school, then you are going (with a lot of others) to have to do something about and try to make a change.

Is Abortion A Political Issue
Yes, abortion should be one of many concerns
in this election, but more importantly who they are going to vote for and where that person stands. This next president will be replacing 2 or 3 Supreme Court Justices. If we could get conservitives in those sits we could see a over turn of Roe vs. Wade. Plus,
then it would be once again left up to the state and maybe we could see the banning of abortion. I have but one question for those who see nothing wrong with abortion. What if
your mother had a choice in aborting you? Would you still feel the same about abortion then?

Offended By Women Pastors
Alan of Uk,
Yes, I do read the Bible literally, I am a
Independent Baptist, and in 1 Timothy 3:5 says, "(For if a man know not how to rule his
own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) And verse 6 says, "Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil."
I believe a young man should be married before he pastor's for testimony and character purposes. However, for an older man whose wife has already passed and has had a good testimony, I wouldn't have a problem with him pastoring.

Offended By Women Pastors
No, I don't feel that men are offended by women preachers, but it would seem they are if you aren't looking at it biblically. Yes, I would leave a church if a woman came to pastor, because in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 gives the qualifications for a preacher and as quote in verse number 2, " the husband of one wife," and I really don't think a woman can be the husband of one wife.

Pastor Charging For Services
I think it is very sad that we have men who say they are called of God and really are just in it to make money. When my husband and I got married almost 3 years ago, we tried to give a little money to my pastor for marrying us and he refused it. He said that if we gave any thing to him that he would hold on to it and give it to us on our first anniversary. If it was me, I would find another church to attend if the preacher wanted that much for a wedding!
