Never Got An Engagement Ring
I know how you feel. My hubby and I have been married going on 30 years and he never buys me anything as well. I never got an engagement ring. I see my young nieces getting them from their fiances and it hurts. Talk to your husband and let him know how you feel. Maybe he will understand.Mine doesn't.

My Pastor And His Wife Are Worldly
you are right to question this. Many Christians try to christianize eastern practices and you cannot christianize something that is opposite of what the bible teaches. I came to this blog for the same reason, a potential church we were considering has a pastor who told us he was taking a martial arts class but not to tell anyone, the day before he told us he was not going to change service because of the super bowl but then said he was going to change it. Worldly? Yep. We have decided not to attend this church because there are several things that we feel are unscriptural. We WILL NOT sit under a pastor that could lead his flock astray so we are looking else where. Discernment is extremely important in the world we live in today.

Friendship With A Married Man
No I do not think it's ok for a married man to be friends with a single woman ... my husband became frinds with a temp on his job and when things got heated at home it pushed him closer to her and ended in an affair they say they were friends that just got to close!!!! you think!!??? So NO there is always a risk feelings may start to form sexual chemisty is a nother factor. Unless she has her own man and you do things as a couple thats the way I think it should be done.

Supernatural God Experience
I have received the divine mercy. I have visions of the red lettering in the bible. I have been taken to greener pastures by the holy spirit. I have seen projection movies in my minds eye.

LDS Not The Tribe Of Isreal

Thank you for the thoughtful question! I suppose my answer is actually two. I'm not very familiar with the RLDS other than I think that Emma Smith believed that her son should be the Prophet and that only descendants of Joseph Smith would be the head of the church. I could be wrong.

LDS Not The Tribe Of Isreal
Keeping in mind that I believe there can be only one true Church of Jesus Christ -

Just as I don't believe that protestant churches have any real claim as far as authenticity since they merely broke away from doctrine they didn't like in the original church, the same holds true for those who broke away (for the same reasons) from the restored Church of Jesus Christ.

On a more personal level - when I was baptized over 25 years ago the President of our church was Spencer W. Kimball. When I listened to him speak I had NO DOUBT that he was a prophet of God. After a significant absence from the church I felt like I wanted to go back. The first time I heard Gordon B. Hinckley speak (on television) I felt the same warmth, the same witness that he is a prophet of God. I can't explain it, I just know it.

The LDS do follow the Bible - in fact we follow it more literally than any other faith. Our knowledge of God the Father and Jesus Christ is not only from the Bible but it is expanded through The Book of Mormon.

Mormons aren't hiding - we are tired of repeating ourselves to people who only hear what they want to hear. Not to mention that many of our posts don't seem to make it.

Are Mormons Christians
Actually Andrea, the introduction has been changed. Not the Book of Mormon text. I'm not sure if you realize this but I'm reasonably sure that most of the changes to the Book of Mormon have been gramatical. You might actually read the book before making claims that are untrue.

Are Mormons Christians
Pastor Herb - don't you teach that Christ was born of a virgin, the Ten Commandments were written by the finger of God, that Moses parted the Red Sea, that Noah saved civilization by building a big boat, that Jesus fed the masses with two fish and two loaves, healed the sick and raised the dead? We believe all of this as well...yet - for us to believe that God and Jesus Christ appeared to a 15 year old boy who was asking for an answer to his prayer is just crazy?!? Go figure "Christian" logic!

What Cults Have In Common
It appears that a cult is anyone who isn't of the Fundamentalist or Evangelical ilk. The religions listed are constantly having to defend their beliefs but those who call themselves "Christians" never answer with any substance any question they have been asked. Please shock me moderator - post this comment!

Are Mormons Christians
The LDS believe that God continues to communicate through prophets just as He did throughout the Bible. We believe and follow the Bible as well as other scripture.

Mormons are Christians because we follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We follow the Bible more literally than any other church - we do not pick and choose what is convenient.

As to the "don't you teach?" statements - we teach the gospel given to us by Jesus Christ.

I Want A Woman President
nurserobert - you're right, I can't read her mind, I can only go with what my instincts tell me and the way she has always impressed me. I can't help it - I don't believe anything she says. Maybe it's not "Christian" to mistrust her but I do. I'm not ready to give my country up to socialism and that is exactly what she wants to accomplish. Again, in my opinion.

What is the Da Vinci Code About
JESUS WAS NOT MARRIED AND DID NOT HAVE KIDS!!!! Jesus is not a normal human being and we will never be on the same level as he is. He is a Superior Being. He is the true, the way, and the light of the world noone can come to Father but through him.
