Fail To Tell The Truth

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, unto them that keep His covenant and His testimonies.
(Psalm 25:10)

God has made covenants with a few folks throughout time, most notably was the covenant God made with Moses. When you read the Old Testament, it is very clear, a covenant is Gods Law.

God gave Moses a covenant to give to the children of Israel, and God gave Jesus a new covenant to all who would believe in him. However the sticking point in the covenant God gave Jesus, is...Though many know they are under the New Covenant, they do not believe they are under the New law of God.

And since they do not keep the New Law, they do not have the Truth.

Is it not true, if these men introduced these teachings in your church, they would be called false teachers? If not why not?

(Romans 2:6-7) God who will render to every man according to his deeds: to those who by patient continuance in welldoing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life.

(James 2:23-24)
And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God. Ye see then how by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

(Romans 2:13) For it is not the hearers of the law who are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

If Jesus ended the law, as you believe, why would the Holy Spirit convict you of sin, when in (1John 3:5) it clearly says, sin is the transgression of the Law?

I understand that is a difficult question to answer, so go ask your teachers....for a coherent answer, and I will wait.

Coherent... logically connected, consistent:

I find it annoying that you make false accusations.---kathr4453

Look carefully Kathrine, it was a question, not an accusation. The fact you saw it as an accusation...is annoying. You are not under the conviction of the Holy Spirit and I was simply trying to understand why.

There are many false doctrines and I am trying to discover ways to wake people up. My hope is in learning a way through their testimonies.

Oh...one other thing, I never said baptism saves you, or like you, believe someone is saved when they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We are saved when we are born of the Spirit. And the sign of that birth was foretold in (1 John 3:9 & 10). If you choose not to believe it, that is between you and God.

Let me ask you David, exactly what did Cornelius do to receive the Holy Spirit?---kathr4453

Cornelius, very interesting because the story clearly shows in (Acts 10:47) these folks did receive the Holy Spirit without water. Which explains to me, why so many people do not get baptized in water. I have come across many Christians who did not feel a Godly sorrow over sin. They all had one thing in common, all were never baptized in water.

But I love your Acts 2 verse. Proves Calvinism is false.---kathr4453

Kathrine
Never really thought about it those terms, but you are right. I guess by your answer...you were never Baptized in water?

You say you received the Holy Spirit, could you share with me what you did to receive this gift? Did you follow the instruction in (Acts 2:38) or did you receive the gift another way?

John the Baptist required repentance first before he baptized with water, asking many to come back AFTER they repented. ---kathr4453

Kathrine
As you can see in (Acts 19:1-3) People who were baptized by John did not receive the gift of the Holy Spirt. A gift needed for the spiritual conviction of sin. I was baptized when I was 12, but I did not receive the gift of the Holy Spirit until I was 28,...after my first confession of sin.

At the time I didnt know what had happened, but the guilt over sin, after that prayer, was undeniable. Before that time my sin was before men, after that Gift my sin was before God. My wife had the same experience, after the confession of sin, as many people do.

Kathrine brings up a good point about the second coming of Christ. Israel rejected Jesus when he walked among us, which means they are still waiting for their messiah.

In order for them to proclaim Jesus as their messiah, he must fulfill the prophecies. I would think These are prophecies they would need to witness. So how will Israel come to accept Jesus when these prophecies have already been fulfilled?

When people believe they have found what they are looking for, they simply stop looking. If they are looking for salvation, the false doctrine gives them what their itching ears want to hear.

A vast majority of Christians have never been baptized, which means they have never received the gift of the Holy Spirit. No Holy Spirit...No Godly conscience. My wife was one of these folks who wasnt baptized, and who disagreed with me.

To cover all her bases, she asked me to baptized her. After I baptized her, I told her to go and confess her sin before God. The result? She left the baptist church a few weeks later.

As you well know, the bible is replete with clear instruction. But if folks followed that clear instruction, they wouldnt need the teachings of men, and they would follow the Holy Spirit.

This is why the false teacher must use the hard to understand teachings of Paul. Teachings meant for the mature, not babies.

(2 Peter 3:15-16) Bear in mind that our Lords patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

This verse does not say doers of the law are declared righteous. It says shall be justified.---kathr4453

You are Way ahead of me, Kathrine and nice catch!

I usually post from the KJ21, but this time I purposely posted from an NIV, which uses the word righteousness in the verse. The K21 uses the word justified. Two different meanings, and as illustrated, even Biblical translators dont know the difference.

Two different words with two entirely different meanings. If you can, Please explain the difference.

Galatians 3:11 - But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, It is evident, The just shall live by faith.---RichardC

Richard
Can you reconcile the teaching Paul gave in (Romans 2:13), with (Galatians 3:11), where Paul said...
For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in Gods sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous???

Hint...the answer is in the difference between Justification and in Righteousness. Which I will explain if you can not reconcile these teachings.

Kathrine says...
Folks, you do not have to earn Gods Love.

Jesus says...
(John 14:21) Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.

Kathrine says...
Nothing YOU can do can earn Salvation or God's love.

Pauls says...
(Romans 2:6 & 7) God will repay each person according to what they have done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

Who is right? Jesus and Paul or....Kathrine???

You got it...through our sorrow we are brought into repentance. It is much like a relationship with our parents. As we grow in our relationship with them, we become more and more obedient.

At first, we do it because we fear punishment, but as our love for them grows, we do it because we know it pleases them. In the same manner, it is our love for God which brings about our sorrow over sin, and which will bring us into repentance.

The Law of Christ teaches us how to love God, and what causes God to loves us. Abraham, Issac, Jacob, loved God. And it was their Love for God that made them righteous in the eyes of God. (Deuteronomy 30: 19-20)

My question is who or what is the Holy Spirit to you?

Josef
The Spirit of God. Which is freely given as a gift, a gift to the unsaved. And when we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he will lead us towards our salvation.

Through the Holy Spirit, we are guided into all truths. And because this gift is free, and through which we gain the knowledge of truth...This is why the unsaved can not claim ignorance, or blame man for the false doctrines they may have followed.

Many doctrines teach salvation first and redemption second, but that is not the message Jesus taught to his disciples.

Now I dont expect you to believe me, nor do I expect you to believe the Bible verses I gave you. But I do believe the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ will convince you. Notice in (1 John 1:5-10), the cleansing, a promise from God when we confess our sin.

When you confess sin, this cleansing is an undeniable event which takes place in the sinner. After this cleansing, you will now feel guilt over sin, a guilt you did not feel before this cleansing took place.

Now if nothing happens, this means you did not receive this gift. To receive the Holy Spirit, follow the directions given in (Acts 2:38).

You must first understand How the Holy Spirit guides you.

The Holy Spirit makes us aware of sin, by making us feel guilt before God...when we sin. But we must stay in the light to get the full effect of this spiritual guidance. How?
Through the practice of a daily confession of sin before God.

After a confession of sin, the Holy Spirit, through our Godly conscience, will try to stop us before we commit any new sin. This is the Holy Spirit teaching us, what displeases God. And when we do not commit these sins, we are now living in obedience to God. The result of this obedience? (John 14:21-23)

Though Georgia didnt fight it, the actions they took pertaining to the new voter ID law, speaks loud enough. The legislature must have seen some evidence which provoked this action.

If they didnt suspect fraud, why do you believe they took this action....after the election?
