Fail To Tell The Truth

Trav:

You wrote: Truth cannot abide untruth.... therefore I post scripture that offends you.

Where did you ever get the idea that any particular scripture offends me, including the Ten Talents? You, however appear to be offended by my referring to Acts 2:44.

Sodom and Gomorrah were very liberal. You almost come out and admitted you are too. 1Co 6:9...

I don't see any mention of "liberal" here. You are inserting words into scripture that are not there. Talk about twisting scripture! Pot. Kettle. Black.

Trav:

For someone who claims to not care, you seem to do an awful lot of judging and condemnation about it. Why is that?

The Bible mentions "liberal" many times, and always in a good way. 2000 years ago, the Pharisees were the self-righteous judgmental theologically-correct religious and political right, while Jesus and his disciples were the people-loving politically-incorrect religious-hypocrite-condemning rich-condemning left. Not much has changed in thousands of years.

The early church "kept everything in common" - the epitome of socialism.

Fail To Tell The Truth

Many people believe that they see the truth, and then act on it. However, many are also focused on the truth that they see, that they ignore other truths that are just as important, and sometimes even more important.

Which particular truth are you seeing that you feel that it's important to act on?

Salvation In The Church

Trav:

Kenneth Hagin wrote a book called "The Woman Question" about the issue of women being silent in the church. He pointed out that the Greeks used the same word for "woman" and "wife", so 1 Ti 2:12 could be read "I suffer not a wife to teach, nor to usurp authority over the husband" - which makes much more sense, as it aligns with other scriptures that deal with intra-family order. "Woman" and "man" contradicts other parts of the New Testament, where there are deaconesses, and women like Priscila heading congregations.

Why is almost EVERY single one of your posts an accusation? There is one figure in the Bible who does that. Guess who?

YOU started the "judge people by their news sources" thing first, so YOU state your sources first. If you think my sources are bad, you must have others you think are better - so prove it!

I don't get my news from any one news source. When I hear a story, I check multiple sources for multiple perspectives, e.g. Biblically required "two or three witnesses". Do you? Fox said nobody in their right minds takes Tucker seriously. If you do, you have problems.

Citizenship is irrelevant. I live here and pay taxes, but get no vote. The Revolution was fought over the injustice of taxation without representation, yet you dare apply the same unequal judgment to me that your ancestors fought against?

People "with the law in their heart" don't constantly lie, except when forced to tell the truth at the point of a lawsuit. They know "thou shalt not bear false witness" (and every other law) without being told by a judge. Every one of those in my last message lied and used "I was only kidding" as an excuse. Does that sound "Christian" to you? Would you want others to treat you that way, lying about you, and saying "we were only kidding" when cornered? If not, it's not acceptable "Christian" behavior.

You constantly criticize who you think *I* get my news from, yet you keep avoiding the question of where do *YOU* get your news from? Why do you not answer?

Fox News, Alex Jones, Sidney Powell, NewsMax, etc. don't "freely admit" guilt. They do so as a last resort, an excuse to avoid billions in libel judgments. Instead of admitting "We deliberately lied, so we're guilty of false witness", they weasel out with "It wasn't a lie, because it was just a joke."

Nowhere does the bible say "Thou shalt not bear false witness - unless you don't mean it", but these use that a "get out of jail free" excuse.

I AM NOT A COMMUNIST. You keep asserting this lie. "Thou shalt not bear false witness" seems to matter little to you.

You wrote: You or no one chooses..... maybe its the prob with your doctrine..... needs a little light.

Calvinism again. Yes, God invites us, but WE choose whether to accept that invitation. Otherwise, we're just puppets on strings, and puppets cannot be blamed for their own actions, because they are not THEIR actions.

If we have no say, why are you here, as nothing you say to anyone can convince anyone of anything, as only God could do that?

Why do you keep telling me I'm wrong? Is it to correct my behavior? If so, it implies I have some choice in it. If not, but just condemnation, you forget "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus". Make up your mind.

You complain about the "godless media", but where do you get YOUR information from?

I hope it's not Fox News, because they have frequently said things that they later had to admit were lies - something "godly media" would never have to do.

They recently won a defamation lawsuit by successfully arguing that "nobody in their right minds would take anything Tucker Carlson says seriously". Alex Jones and Sidney Powell have used similar excuses when sued for bearing false witness.

They just had to retract a piece that alleged Biden wanted to stop people from eating meat, and you'd only be allowed 4 pounds of meat a year, and one hamburger every four months.

Filled With Holy Spirit

David:

Jesus didn't "eliminate" the Law. He specifically said that not one iota would be removed from the Law. What he DID do was create a new and better covenant, which we can choose to be part of. Those under the old covenant were under the Law. Those under the new covenant are not under the Law, but under Grace.

I'm not "adding my own doctrines". I point out what NT says. You just pick verses you like and reject ones you don't.

Much of the NT alters and updates OT. In OT, each tribe of Israel was distinguished by its patriarch. In NT, in most cases, they are collectively known as Jews.

Your quoted scriptures mention NO tribes by name.

Everywhere "King of the Jews", never "King of Israel".
John 2:13 "the Jews' Passover". Not "Israel's".

"Who are called Jews" has absolutely nothing to do with "climbing in another way spoken of by Christ". This is not about salvation. For that, see Galatians 3:28 "neither Jew nor Greek".

Trav:

Just as is done today, in the New Testament, the word "Jews" was used informally for ALL of Israel, not just the tribe of Judah. In particular, the priesthood was run exclusive by men from the tribe of Levi, yet the "Jews" who conspired against Jesus and tried to have him killed were pretty much exclusively from this group.

Stop trying to split a hair that the New Testament itself chose not to split.

The Messiah was prophesied to come from Judah - and Jesus was able to trace the legitimacy of his lineage that way (see Matthew). Once the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, all lineage records were destroyed, making it impossible for anyone from ANY of the tribes to make claims based on lineage.

Who Is A Widow

Josef:

Marriage is a covenant that lasts for the rest of one's life - and no further. Vows typically include language like "As long as we both shall live" or "'Til death do us part". Jesus specifically said that in heaven, neither do men marry, nor are women given in marriage. OT permitted widows to remarry.

1 Corinthians 7:28 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth, but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord.

(Mormons believe in another kind of "celestial marriage" that lasts for eternity, but this is not biblical, and actually contradicts scripture.)

Nationality Of Jesus

Josef:

One of the principles established in the Old Testament is that if someone joins Israel (e.g. by becoming Jewish), they are now part of the tribe, and heirs to the promise. This same principle is echoed in the New Testament. Gentiles who accept Jesus are a wild branch that is grafted onto the tree, and heirs to the promise. Ruth was a Moabitess, but nevertheless an ancestor of Jesus.

The Khazar hypothesis of Ashkenazi ancestry is largely discredited, and has often been cited by anti-semites to de-legitimize modern Jews. Genetic studies of Ashkenazi Jews finds no genetic markers from Khazars/Caucasus, but many of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and South European origin.

Nationality Of Jesus

Josef:

Yes, I have also noticed the same thing. There are many discussions where I haven't replied - because I actually did, but the responses didn't show up. It's hard to tell why, as there is no mechanism to give or receive feedback on posts.

It seems like you believe that the people currently in the country of Israel are not, in fact, descendants of ancient Israel, and as such, aren't entitled to the promises that go with that heritage. Why do you believe that?

I have not taught law. However, outlandish claims, i.e. that "divorced Israel" have accepted Christ, demand proof. You also claim some people have "the law of God in their hearts". The Bible says these will eventually happen. What IS in dispute is your claim they already happened.

I showned this cannot have happened yet, as people who HAVE the law in their hearts no longer need teachers to teach it to them - yet there is no group alive today that is Christian by nature without having teachers.

What do jurors have to do with anything?

You wrote: So he came to his own Judah, they received him not.... but, divorced Israel has.

Really? When and where did that happen? What evidence do you have of this? If you're referring to the British Israel theory, that pseudo-scientific belief has been refuted by archaeological, ethnological, genetic, cultural, and linguistic research.

Also, what people have "the law in their hearts"? Be specific. Remember, people who have the law written on their hearts have no need for anyone to teach them the law.

Courts refused testimony that was not "evidence". Direct testimony requires witnessing, e.g. "I saw them altering ballots". Opinion and hearsay are not, e.g. "I saw them unloading boxes that I assume were ballots", or "Marge said she saw someone altering ballots", or "Sue has a friend who said she saw someone altering ballots". ALL evidence presented was of this inadmissable type.

The Bible requires "two or three witnesses". Hearsay is not admissible, and is called gossip, and universally condemned.

Many judges who threw cases out were Republicans, and quite a few were Trump appointees.

Confirmed? Prove it. Show EXACTLY where and by whom.

Facial Church Attendance

Trav:

People have cakes at weddings, regardless of religious beliefs.

Bible gives US rules to live by. It NEVER gives us authority to impose those rules on others.

Jesus said don't judge. When providing services to others, I don't do personality checks because it's my job to provide that service, NOT be Religious Correctness Police. Matthew 25 isn't "I was hungry, but you wouldn't feed me because I was the wrong kind of person". Jews shunned Samaritans. That was wrong.

Matthew 26:52: Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

If you support war, capital punishment, proliferation of weapons, etc. you aren't pro life.

Things are true or false, regardless of who says them.

In Canada and other developed countries, everybody gets health care. Nobody is denied because they can't pay. Nobody is bankrupted by high hospital bills. EXCEPT here. Millions are uninsured. So how is here "better?". Even universal health care opponent Rand Paul went to "socialist" Canada for treatment.

I keep giving you truths, but you ignore them, accuse me of lies, but never prove they're lies. Name ONE and prove it's a lie.

What "things I've avoided talking about"? You want a direct answer, ask a direct question. As to my or kathr's personal lives, those are none of your business. You haven't shared yours either.
