Dress Anyway To Church Today

Really, the only thing that God specifically told uis to do is for women to cover their head when in church. I think it is a good thing to dress modestly, and it is a good thing to wear nice clothes to church if you have tfhem, but frankly, God is much more concerned with what is in your heart that what clothes you are wearing.

Ashes On The Forehead

#2 Up to next Sunday at Vespers, we can eat fish, eggs, and dairy, but no meat. From then until Pascha (Easter) we can eat fruit, vegetables, grains, and on Saturday and Sunday all the oil and wine we want.

This prepares us for Pascha, and for the rejoicing of that feast. (Con't)

Ashes On The Forehead

#3 We fast to prepare ourselves. God does not need our fasting, WE do! Now, as far as you are infirm, then you may mitigate the fast. But the rules are for normal healthy adults. Children and expectant or nursing mothers are exempt.

Ashes On The Forehead

I am an Eastern Catholic, and our Lenten practice starts on the Monday before Ash Wednesday--we do not do the Imposition of Ashes. However, we have spent the last two weeks preparing for Lent. Up until last Sunday, we were allowed to eat meat. (Con't)

Why Does God Let Us Suffer

brene 7657 said: God doesn't let us suffer. God allowed us to make a choice - suffering comes from our own actions.

That is a load of bumpf! I have fibromyalgia, and I suffer daily. If I posted the list of meds that I am taking it would use all 85 words and then some. God allows us to suffer--sometimes to humble us, sometimes to toughen us up (con't)

Why Does God Let Us Suffer

#2 but it is always for His reasons! People that say that God doesn't allow suffering, and that if you just had faith you would be healed give me a big pain. I have prayed. I have gone to the elders of my church to be anointed. Don't tell me I don't have enough faith. That is a trap and a snare of Satan, as it will lead to despair and depression. (Con't)

Why Does God Let Us Suffer

#3 If Satan can get us to despair, then he has won. Even though I am in pain all the time I refuse to despair. God has done this for His reasons, and I will continue to praise Him in the midst of my pain

Christians Without Bibles

John said" When I was catholic, I attended parochial school, excelled in catechism, was a good catholic, but was NEVER encouraged to read the Bible. "

That's odd John, because I went to Catholic school, and in my freshman year of High school we had to read the entire Old Testament. As a sophmore, it was the entire New Testament.

Not to mention the cathechism and Bible study in grade school.

Grade school was in Chicago, and High School was in Rockford, Illinois.

Does God Make Things Hard

I could write a book on this! So bear with me.

We are called to tread on scorpions and serpents (Luke 10:19) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (KJV)

Now, how are we going to do that? Con't

Does God Make Things Hard

#2 If we walk along in nice shag carpeting, and on soft sand and green grass, how are our feet going to be prepared to walk on scorpions? One sting and our foot would start to swell up and turn black--not a good thing. If on the other hand, we have been taking 50 mile hikes through the desert with God, then a scorpion sting wouldn't even make it through the first layer of callous Cont

Does God Make Things Hard

#3 As a result, if God has led you into a tough place, just think of it as training so that we can march on snakes and scorpions and not be hurt at all.

Celebrate Valentine's Day

If we are going to celebrate St. Valentine's Day, then we should celebrate the man, a priest of the Catholic Church, who was martyred for the love of Jesus.

By the way, it was not his thing to buy chocolates and flowers by the bushel, handing them out to everybody with sweet pretty pink hearts. That St. Valentine was dreamed up by the greeting card industry to sell cards, and is therefore a pagan holiday, to be scorned by "true believers."

What God Can't Do

Surely God CAN sin? It's just that He doesn't
---alanUKquent64534 on 1/25/07:

Very well put. If we are made in His image, and if we have free will, then surely He has free will, and can choose to sin, but always chooses not to

Cow And Human Put Together

I don't blieve that there is anything specifically in Scripture about this excepting possibly this:

Lev 19:19. You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed, nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool be upon you.

Now, I realize that we are free of the kosher laws of the Old Testement, but this is all I can find that would be a prohibition against doing such a thing.--Con't

Cow And Human Put Together

#2 On the other hand, if this thiing was allowed to come to maturity, and be born, would it be a man or a cow? I would think that this mixing of things would still be unwise.

I Will Be Raptured Because

There is no such thing as the Rapture. It is an invention of a 19th century heretic. All of the Christians that are alive at the time of the Second Coming will have had to go through the Tribulation.

Can I Pierce My Nose

Oh yeah! Wonderful look, especially when you sneeze

Are Roman Catholics Christian

John said:All the years that I attended Catholic church I NEVER heard an alter call for people to accept Christ.

Roman Rite "Priest: This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to his supper.
All: Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.--Con't

Are Roman Catholics Christian

Eastern Rite:
"Deacon or Priest: 'With fear of God with faith and love draw near'
People: Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord. God the Lord has appeared to us."

Roman or Eastern, both are Altar Calls of the best type!

Are Catholics Christians

Evidence--Hmmmm--How do I give evidence that Caatholics are Christians? Well, first of all I will admit that not all Catholics are Christians. But then I would also have to add that not all of the people that belong the the Assemblies of God arre Christian, either. I know because I used to go the the A of G and I met a lot of unChristian behavior, not to mention the preaching of --Con't
