Can You Love God
Yes . . . it says He wants us to. We need to find out how He wants us to love Him.

I would say God is very personal, as the Father and Son and Holy Spirit. So, God wants us in personal love, not at some distance. And we have how He shares His love with us >

"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (Romans 5:5)

And then discover how He has us doing His commandments, in sharing with Him (c:

What Is The Strong Delusion
What is "strong delusion"?

Well, 2 Thessalonians 2:11 says >

"And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie," (2 Thessalonians 2:11)

Well, we might understand this by reading what the "reason" is (c:

It looks like it is saying that people have refused God, and so God has let them go into all the trouble and deceit that they get by being with Satan. They get intimate with feelings of pleasure, instead of sharing as family with God, then comes the misery and ruin.

Want More From God
"Many people only 'WANT' from God whatever they can get (cold-hearted greed)...NOTHING MORE."

Well, it does seem there is ministry which talks mainly or only about how God loves "you", and therefore He will give you this and that. But it might not give much, if any, attention to how God loves us and therefore corrects us to become like Jesus and to love like Jesus.

Hebrews 12:4-14 talks about the correction we have because our Father loves us.

"But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition." (in 1 Timothy 6:8-10)

What Was Paul's Gospel
Yes, Paul preaches the gospel which we see in 1 Corinthians 15 > the death of Jesus for our sins, His burial, and the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. And we see that the other apostles also have preached this gospel.

So, his gospel is not different.

If I say God is "my God", this does not mean I have a different God (c: than everyone else.

Orthodox Church Priesthood
Ok, Dave > you say the priesthood of Christ is different than the Orthodox priesthood because Christ's priesthood is like that of Melchizedek with only one priest, while the Orthodox have many.

But, Dave, we in Jesus are His "royal priesthood" > 1 Peter 2:9. And there are many of us (c:

So, I am saying the number of members in a priesthood alone is not the measure.

So, what do you find, more essential perhaps, that is a difference, please?

What Was Paul's Gospel
My opinion . . . Paul had been voting for Christians to be executed. So, now saying the Gospel is his is his testimony that now he is a follower of Jesus Christ. And this is personal, for him, so now he stands up for Jesus.

He did not mean the Gospel he preaches is different than that of Peter and James and others of us.

Peter himself verifies that he approves of the message written by Paul.

And I personally can see that the message of Paul is the same as in the Epistle of James. I mean the meaning of how to love and the theology are the same.

Paul and James and Peter are talking about the same Jesus and the same way to love.

Orthodox Church Priesthood
David, how do you think Orthodox people's priesthood is like to the Levitical priesthood?

The Orthodox priests minister communion which they consider to be the body and blood of Jesus, but the Levitical priests did not have this.

That alone is a big difference. So, what do you have in mind that makes the Levitical and Orthodox priesthoods similar, please?

What Is The Purpose Of Blogs

Yes, there is ongoing arguing and complaining and accusing.

But . . . we do share God's word here. And there are things which can help us.

Do You Miss Trump
Well, now that you ask if we miss Donald . . . I can see how someone could get addicted to him . . . either to criticize him, or to like how he criticizes people we might have been criticizing.

But I myself have needed to get rid of my own paranoid stuff and critical spirit. So, I did not need to add someone else's problems to mine.

Explain Acts 2:38
Acts 2:38 >

"Then Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" (Acts 2:38)

This is God's word . . . which means what God knows He means. So, don't throw this scripture out because of how ones might misrepresent it.

Is Hiring Pastors Biblical
Jesus told the disciples >

"Freely you have received, freely give." (in Matthew 10:8)

But He did tell them to accept people's support > "remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages." (in Luke 10:7)

I see how there was family support of love, sharing in someone's house.

There was family trust. But hiring with a contract could mean the pastor does not trust the church and the church does not trust the pastor.

Acts 20:32-35 > Paul worked as an example to leaders, saying how Jesus says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Filled With Holy Spirit
Obey how God rules us in HIs peace >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

And actively seek our Father for how He is able to correct us > Hebrews 12:4-14. God corrects our character so we become pleasing to Him like His Son Jesus >

"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)

Picture Close To Heart
Jesus does want us to love people. But if we love only certain favorite people >

"if you love those who love you, what reward have you?" He says in Matthew 5:46.

So, yes it is possible to have what I call "love idols".

But yes God blesses us with special people . . . ones who help us to discover how to love any and all people the way the Bible says.

So, if someone's example has helped you to become all-loving, and the person has helped you find out how to love any and all people . . . keep this example in your heart, indeed.

Importance Of Free Will
Free will can be an idol.

If I am free from God so I control myself and am not submitting to how He personally guides us in His own peace (Colossians 3:15) . . . then I am free from God, and this is a major problem!!!!

Salvation In The Church
Jesus is our way to God.

He includes His word in the process.

But if a sacrament is only a copy-cat thing . . . this can not work.

Anything we do with Jesus can help. All the time, we need to stay attentive and submissive to how Jesus guides us. His grace has us doing what spreads His grace, all the time. Every action in His love and leading will spread the effect of God's love.

And God's love in us changes our character so we become like Jesus who is so pleasing to our Father >

1 John 4:17.

Was 2020 Election Stolen

I think it was donated to the Democrats, by not having a qualified candidate representing the Republican Party. And before this the Democrats donated the presidency to Donald, by running Hillary.

It seems parties take turns donating the election to the other party.

Importance Of Free Will
Kathr445 > you ask > "Can you show scripture we died a SPIRITUAL DEATH. According to 1 Corinthians 15:45-50 the first man Adam was earthly and not spiritual. The Last man Adam was is Spiritual. Also Job 32:8 the spirit of man.... Man is body soul and spirit. No scripture says the man's spirit died."

Well, in sin a person is conscious, but not alive in God's love. And I consider this >

"But she who lives in pleasure is dead while she lives." (1 Timothy 5:6)

For me, this means being love-dead > not alive in God's love.

Importance Of Free Will
Hi, Ven (c: If my will is free from God so I am making my own choices, I suspect this means I am acting in separation from God.

If I am truly free, I am choosing to submit to how our Father personally rules us in His own peace. Because this is part of our basic Christian calling >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

If we are not submissive to our Father in His own peace, our wills are operating in sin. And our wills, then, are acting in freedom from God!
