Should I Approve An Atheist
You are a Christian and I'm sure it does hurt and worry you about your daughter's current beliefs as well as her fiance's.

She wants you to attend her wedding with "atheist" vows. I wonder if she's planning a marriage in a church...

My advice would be to attend the wedding. Pray for both her and her fiance. Remember the story of the Prodigal son. Be patience, and do not throw the Lord to the wind because of this. If they come to visit, it is they that will have to remember and respect your feelings. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Continue to be a beacon of example and unconditional love for them. Love their children all the same as well. Let the Lord shine through you to them.

14 Kids And No Husband
I read through all the postings on this topic before deciding whether or not to throw in my 2 cents.

Yes, I believe it is a sad situation and the end result will be probably removing the children to homes that can adequately care for each of these children.

However, regardless of the action, the sum involved, resources available, it still does not give us the right to look down our noses and cast judgment on this woman. Why not instead pray for her and those children and perhaps help take positive action to help rather than negative contemplation.

What would the Lord say to us regarding this?

Why Did Jesus Go To Hell
At the time of the Reformation there was controversy concerning this expression too.

If you look at the actual crucifixion, then that in itself could be interpreted as experiencing the reality of hell.

If you are looking at creeds, such as the Apostles' Creed, where it states in some versions that Jesus went to hell, to acknowledge that hell is the punishment of sinners, and Jesus died for our sins, then yes, you could say the Lord experienced hell. And, if Jesus had not died for our sins, then we would have no hope of salvation or eternal life by accepting Him into our lives.

SDA Explain Colossians 2:16
Colossians 2:16 is really an incomplete structure without reading ahead to verse 17 where it talks about these things being a shadow of Christ because it was before Him.

The ceremonial laws of the OT are referred to as shadows because they symbolically depicted the coming of Christ. And, any insistence on the observance of such ceremonies is a failure to recognize that their fulfillment has already happened due to Christ.

Hebrews 8:5 says they serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven.

Hebrews 10:1 says the law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming - not the realities themselves.

I Have Been Married Twice
Mary of Magdalene and her introduction to Christ is a wonderful example that we can and are forgiven.

Christ asked all those who would stone her if they had never committed a sin before, and if they hadn't, then throw the stone. Each dropped their stones and walked away.

Only you can make that decision to come to Christ fully and ask for forgiveness. You must be the one willing to do the footwork and turn everything else over to the Lord.

Not a one of us here are innocent in life. But if we are willing to change and follow the Lord's example, then we too are given that second chance at eternal life.

How To Properly Spank My Kids
Proverbs 22:15, 23:13-14 and 29:15 all speak of using a rod to discipline our children and save their souls from death.

Why choose an implement to spank. Your hand is just as effective to do the chore. The whole process hurts you as much as the child.

From an early age I was beaten to welts and bore resentments rather than learning a lesson and a wedge was driven into a relationship. How sad it took to becoming and adult to heal that wedge.

My children are not struck in any way. We teach our children by the example that the Lord shows to us. By talking to them and holding them accountable for their actions, explaining what was wrong, they rarely repeat the action. They are 18, 17, 15, 12 and 11 in age.

What Do Angels Look Like
I was 18 and caused a horrible car crash that should have killed me. Despite witnesses, nobody remembers the man who approached my car, wrapped me in a blanket and gave me hot coffee to drink until help arrived and prayed over me. I sought this man for a long time with ads in the paper, etc. Nobody recollected him being there but the blanket and coffee could not be explained away.

Yes, I believe that I saw an angel that day. I also believe that if we need to see one, they will appear in a form that we can trust and accept.

Btw, I walked out of the ER with a cane and severe sprains. No breaks or internal injuries despite the mass of wreckage.

Overcoming Addictions
Recovery programs such as AA use twelve steps that help people to get back on track. In recovery, God, in your understanding is your Higher Power. Many in recovery also use the Life Recovery Bible which incorporates the twelve steps in with the scripture to further help in recovery. Recovery is a life long journey. It's like growing up as a Christian - you never stop learning and being guided by God. The answers are not completely fulfilled until you go home. As there are different levels of walking on a spiritual plane with the Lord and becoming a "mature christian", so is the process in recovery as well. You first must admit you are powerless and go from there with doing footwork. He'll handle the rest. God Bless
