Confessing Our Sins

Hi, Kathr . . . you said >

"Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?"

One item about this > this is what the people said. It is a quote of what unbelievers said!

So, I would be careful about assuming that what they said is correct.

Even so . . . God is the One who forgives. But I now understand how He includes us in His process of forgiving.

Because Jesus Christ's forgiveness is not only a legal action of clearing us of charges. There is also how He through us assures us and comforts us, plus has us joining in following His example of how to forgive.

He lives in us > Galatians 2:20 > He shares with us how He is loving and kind in forgiving.

Predestined As A Son Of God

Yes, we are God's children, but we do serve.

"Let all that you do be done with love." (1 Corinthians 16:14)

And so our serving is in our Father's family caring and sharing way. We do not waste ourselves or lord ourselves over others, but we share with Jesus in His "rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:28-30)

And yes we have been adopted. We used to be children of the devil who is love-dead. But now we have our Father who is alive ! ! ! (c:

And we are Jesus Christ's brothers and sisters, being conformed to how Jesus is and loves > this is God's basic focus of everything.

Keep The Sabbath Holy

Hi, Rhonda (c: First, Jesus wants us to rest in Him . . . all the time.

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)

This is all the time. So, in case we do stop activities during the Sabbath, it is time to be still with God and rest in Him and be submissive to Him in His peace. Then this is our standard for how to live and love, all the time.

Like this, in prayer we can stop and get corrected and adjusted by God so we are ready to stay submissive all the time in sharing with Him >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

Pentecostal Church Our Model

"Test all things, hold fast what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

There are false people involved in what they call Pentecostal. So, no we should not assume any and all Pentecostal activity is our model.

I have been with various Pentecostal people and groups. Not all are alike, plus the Bible has given me so much more than a lot of Pentecostal and non-Pentecostal people have given me and told me.

But I would say I have known certain people who have been examples of how I need to become and to love.

Forgive As God Forgives

Yes, Kath . . . God forgave us who were undeserving.

Thank you (c:

So, I do not need to try to judge about who is deserving of my forgiveness or not.

And on the cross, already Jesus forgave us, didn't He? After all, in His heart, on the cross, Jesus desired for us to be forgiven.

And didn't Jesus say if we do something in our heart, we already have done it??

(c:

Confessing Our Sins

Yes Kathr . . . if I understand you right, whatever James 5:16 means to do, this needs to go along with all else which God's word says, including James chapter one.

I believe James 5:16 shows that our Father includes us in His process of healing us of character problems. We are healed more and more together with Him and with one another . . . ministering this healing grace to one another > 1 Peter 4:9-10.

Confessing Our Sins

Hi, Kathr . . . you said >

"I've always found it interesting that verse says 'faults' not 'sin'."

A sin can be an action, but a fault can be a condition of our character. And a fault in character can make us able to give in to sinning, and able to suffer various horrid things of unforgiveness, stress, nasty anger, arguing, and complaining.

So . . . would it not be good that God has provided a way to be "healed" of character problems so we are together with God in His love, instead?

Confessing Our Sins

It doesn't say for some one person to do all the confessing, but "to one another". So, I see this would be for what we all need.

And a leader could take the lead in doing what this really means . . therefore what really works >

"nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock " (1 Peter 5:3)

Confessing Our Sins

Well, this scripture says to have mutual confession with "one another". And each child of God has ability to pray for others to be "healed". God commands this mutual confession with healing prayer. Therefore, we can be sure God is committed to making this work > even while we still have "trespasses" to confess, with God we can pray for one another to be "healed" . . . what God means by this.

So, I see how it is good to know what is the healing which is guaranteed to come with confession "to one another" with prayer for each other.

What Is Clamor

Thank you, Strong Ax . . . a good and practical sharing.

I think of how you bring out that clamor can have a strategic purpose, of drowning out what someone has to say.

And with this I think of how there can be a racket inside of us, intended to keep us from being attentive to God and resting with Him in His peace.

"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)

Always Learning Scriptures

Hi, Ruben . . . you say, "Here in this life we do not share so much in the glory of the resurrection as we do in the suffering of Jesus in the cross1"

Paul does say > "For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes." (1 Corinthians 11:26) So, yes the death of Jesus is emphasized in Christianity, including in communion.

But is Jesus on Calvary mainly about all that suffering? To me, Ephesians 5:2 shows that how He was sweetly pleasing our Father and loving us is what needs our attention . . . as our example of how we also are required to love. So, in our communion, then, we best show His death by loving the way Jesus was loving us while Jesus was on Calvary.

Always Learning Scriptures

God's basic purpose, I now understand, is to have many children who are "conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (in Romans 8:29) So, everything fits with this overall purpose, in God's word and in things of history. This is God's priority, so it can seem like He does not care about a lot of things.

And this might help us to understand what Jesus means about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. With this, Jesus says, "He who feeds on me will live because of Me," in John 6:57. How will we become if we feed on Jesus? - - - like first gets attention in the Sermon on the Mount > poor in spirit, meek, merciful, and pure in heart.

Living In The End Times

"For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." (Romans 5:10)

"we shall be saved by His life"

So, we hear so much about being saved by Jesus dying on the cross.

How about what God means by being "saved by His life"? What does this mean?

Democrat And Republican Thoughts

"'But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled, for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.'" (Mark 13:7)

So . . . I see that Jesus has guaranteed there will be the wars we see now.

He says they "must" happen. And "do not be troubled".

1 Timothy 2:1-4 says what to do >

"first of all".

There are deeply ruined people who have no clue how to love. So, they can be Satanic children ruling nations, using weapons as their toys. So, Jesus has us pray for such people, with hope for them > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7)

Living In The End Times

"Where is God?"

Jesus has guaranteed these things will happen. So, God is in the know and working His perfect plan, every moment. But how are we taking it! Where does our attention belong??

"'Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.'" (Luke 21:28)

"'See that you are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass" (in Matthew 24:6)

What Are The Sons Of God

Jesus sent Paul in order for Paul to turn people "from the power of Satan to God" > in Acts 26:18.

It has taken God's power to deliver people from Satan's kingdom, and change people into how we can be, yes, in His love.

There are Satanic sorts of anger and hate and lusts and unforgiveness which have power to deeply degrade and ruin people so they do not know how to love.

But God's power can join a person to Jesus, so he or she becomes "one spirit with Him." (in 1 Corinthians 6:17) And His love and peace has His almighty power to protect us from cruel and nasty things > Philippians 4:6-7.

Are Narcissists Sinless

Kathr . . . about if narcissists are born "that way" > they were born in sin . . . and so they have "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (in Ephesians 2:2).

This spirit of Satan is narcissistic . . . making him and all his children narcissistic . . . some more obviously than others.

Any of us in pride and anger and blaming could be like that.
