I am a Protestant. I protest a great many things. Luther wanted to "REFORM" the Catholic church. He did not wish to separate from Roman Catholicism, only "REFORM" it. On one side, they were called "REFORMERS", on the other side, they were called "PROTESTANTS". Luther, the Chief Reformer still clung to MANY teachings in the Catholic church despite writing 99 things to contest. And do not we all cling to things? Even sins? Jesus tells us to not store our treasures on earth and we do anyway. God tells us to love our enemies and we do not.
