How To Behave On Blogs
Amen! to your answer Catherine. But don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. I don't
often visit this blog for that very reason...the original question rarely gets addressed after the first couple of answers. That's sad because I'm sure people ask questions because they really want an answer.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
let every man tithe and give as he sees fit.
Lee for your information, there were several people in the community that read the Bible that they were given. even the heathen doesnt dare poke criticism at this effort.
I apologize to anyone reading this, if i have caused your foot to go astray, driven you to wrath or embarrassed my Saviour Jesus Christ. I only wanted to contribute to the conversation, not act as an authority. to everyone who is not an authority on the subject but who still like to give/tithe. in your heart is where Jesus Lives, and He will remain there. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, then all things shall be added unto you.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Gary, would love to chat about the deciet the church, but it is off topic. in its most original sense, a tithe is an OFFERING to God. unfortunately man, with his little faith turned it into something he could capitalize on. Malachai says that we rob from God by giving Him the poorest things. "Test me in this" God said, and "see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven and poor out so much you will not have room to store it". the tithe, to God, was always about the heart. that is how God has always seen even the earliest tithe. Gods understanding of the tithe is the heart. the heart has always been the most great tithe. what you give from your heart, thats a tithe. always has been. even to the Levites. cheers bud

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Lee, who are we to say who needs a Bible and who doesnt. How many people in your community dont have a Bible?the gideons have their own ministry but something was on his heart and it did not come from man or satan... so where could it have come from then? who are you to say where his tithe is best suited? Cant you see that very thought as egotistical. that is how the tithe became about robbing God. People who would rather get someone else to do Gods work. maybe tell God your thoughts. I wonder if He would criticize the man?
The comment about the naive Christian doesnt even warrant a response. However, i would like to encourage you to not be so quick to offer advice. it is not sound advice and in all of your replies you seem to offer it.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Gary, I guess you can be right, I have nothing to back up the nonsense of giving from the heart and calling it a tithe. How can a man be taught to give from his heart. I am done throwing pearls to the swine....
continue to listen to the teachings of those who need to debate what a tithe is if you want. Unless you give from your heart, it is nothing. Until any man can "trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding", he will remain in the dark. the self seeking motives of intelligence and independance are the very reason we have to answer... why not humble yourself and come to Him as a little child would..."but as for me and my house we will serve The Lord.", not ourselves.

Did Jesus Heal Everyone That Asked
I dont know when the last time any of these miracles happened. My son was deaf, reading lips deaf. then when everyone said he needed a specialist, i went to the specialist...Jesus Christ...the only one who ever cured the deaf, my son can hear a pin drop mother was on her death bed dying of Hepatitis C, she was given days to live, i took her off the alpha interferon, and and other meds, gave it to God, in 6 weeks she had a clean bill of health. it has been 5 years. God wants us better. my finger was ripped off in an accident, I broke the palmer and arial arteries and was supposed to die on the wayto the hospital. I was completely healed in less than a month. God does not want wounded soldiers, when He cn have the fittest.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Gary, I am not generally a blunt person, but i am goingto be blunt.
you have zero understanding of the tithe, or of the topic. nobody is asking of a levitical tithe.
A man in my community, who does not attend church for the very reason you discuss, still wanted to tithe unto God. He felt in his heart that he wanted to tithe but where does he tithe. If he gives tot he church, they spend it foolishly, but he wanted ot tithe from his heart. so he took 10% of his earnings and he bought bibles. then he put one on every doorstep at night. now that my good friend IS a tithe. call it what you want but be careful that your ego on the subject does not getin the way of the gesture unto God.

Did Jesus Heal Everyone That Asked
Yes, it is my belief that Jesus did heal everyone who asked, why would He say no?
Jesus does not want us to suffer, sickness and disease are a result of sin. without sin, there is no sickness. Since sin has no grasp on Jesus Christ, then neither does sickness.
If you ask Jesus Christ to heal you, I believe you will be healed, but you must believe that He can and will heal you. you are most likely taking medication, which would mean that you are trusting some man made potion to work, or to be from God. God doesnt mix chemicals to trick your body, that is deciet, and from the devil. Jesus heals forever.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Gary, I understand where you are coming from, but I disagree with you. I have not been told by church leaders to tithe. the bigger issue is "whos holding back?"... all of us. you give a heck of alot more than 10%?, who cares, give it all...if not you are holding back. give away everything you have and follow Jesus.
call it tithing or give it another name, Jesus doesnt care what you call it, He just wants you to serve Him with everything you can serve Him with. So in that respect, yes it is a New Testament teaching. A 10% tithe, or first fruits tithe might not be a NT teaching, but helping your brother is, and that is a tithe no matter which way you spin it.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Gary, as I read more of your replies, I see that you are extremely hung up on the notion of your intelligence and Biblical knowledge being superior to others. Why do you do this? I dont recall the question being asked of a "levitical tithe", it asked about a tithe. the general understanding of a tithe should be a gift from your heart. thats really what the people are asking an answer to, because thats what pertains to our everyday lives, not something commanded to the Levites. You have knowledge but lack understanding. these 2 gifts come as a package when delivered by God.

Husband Has A Girl Friend
King Solomon talks alot about a wife of noble character, and how a wise woman builds her house, while the foolish one tears hers down. Go to God on this one, I think in your heart you know the answer, but if you ask God to build your house, then even if it is crumbling now, He will build it for you, there is no evil minded thing that can prevail, Remember Isaiah, "As for me and my house we will serve The Lord". Let his "friend" try to challenge your house as given to you by God, she will lose. God has never lost a battle. Your prayer has also become my prayer now.

Burn In Hell For Eternity
Mark E.
I totally agree with you. I think that you have been given a clear understanding of the Bible, because you do not translate it. If It says it, then it is. The Bible will never contradict itself. A contradiction is deception, and thats the devils card, not Gods. Good for you. I also think that Jerry might need to ask for guidance before he reads, or sways someone with alot of guesswork stated as fact. I certainly hope he asks for guidance, it would be fantastic to see someone who is prepared to read the Bible, put it in their heart.
Jerry - I want to ask you to trust Jesus more than yourself. If you ask Him what the verse means, He will show you. then you would be able to look as smart as you want without interpretation.

Tithing A Biblical Teaching Today
Of course tithing is a new testament teaching, from Jesus Christ Himself.
"Render unto ceasar what is ceasars, and unto God what is Gods."
I have read several responses on here trying to determine an offering as different from a tithe. There is no difference. God does not work on a monetary scale, a tithe is an offering from your heart. What does anyone have that is not God given anyways... As far as Cain and Abel, this is ridiculous. If you dont want to do your part to help God's Will be done, or to show your appreciation for His Grace, dont. He did His part for you, and more than that, He held nothing back... yet we hold back.... we suck!!!!

Proof Of A True Prophet
The answer is no!!!!
Jesus said that many will come to Me on that day and say they performed miracles in MY Name, and I will say I dont know you. - Matt 7:22 (partial) so how do you tell a true prophet, a man does not pick figs from thornbushes, therefore by their fruits you know them...(also Matt 7:16ish)
however a prophet, even OT prophets didnt perform miracles to prove themselves.
Miracles still happen everyday, we lack faith, thats why we dont see them, we want to test so we dont see them. If you are testing the spirits by their miracles, you are being mislead anyways. We need to remain deep in The Holy Spirit...amazing miracles will happen, doesnt mean you are a prophet!

Burn In Hell For Eternity
Dear Greg:

I thank you for your insight, as wrong and misguided as it might be. Unfortunetly for those who do not believe in Hell, it is waiting for them.
That is tragic. The Bible does in fact preach eternal hell and etenal fire, in fact Jesus Himself preaches it. In Mark 9:42 - 48 Jesus mentions it 3 times, and warns against it. And the mention is an eternal hell, where the fires never go out.where the fire is not quenched.
I am finished with this argument. now you know, the truth, choose to heed it, but as Jesus Himself says in this very passage, anyone who causes any of these children who believe to sin better to tie a large millstone around him and be thrown into the sea.

When Is Anger A Sin
anger in itself is not a sin....In Ezekiel 24:13-14, didnt God say "....til i have caused my fury to rest upon thee"?
If anger (fury) is a sin, then we must call God a sinner, and I am not about to do that.
But my answer to the question is that anytime we become angry and do not give it to God, we are trying to do it ourselves, without God. How can we be protected from sin if we dont give it to God? that being said, when our anger is given to God, it cannot cause us to sin.

Burn In Hell For Eternity
thanks for your reply, but it really still sounds like you are trying to convince yourself of your intelligence. There is eternal damnation, believe it if you want or dont, to me thats not what matters. Jesus does not care how smart you are, or how many great mysteries you can contemplate, He wants to let us know that we need to humble ourselves, and that we are not going to split hairs about theology. when you use His gracious Love to argue your intelligence, are you making Him smile, or making your own chest puff with pride?
its really not about which side the verses are on.. they will always side with love... dont worry about how long you will burn or suffer, rather look how long you will live...thats the big thing. cheers bud.

Demon Jumped On Me
I've had this happen to me before too where i cannot wake up from a dream unless i do something i would never do such as jump off a building or find a gun and shoot myself. it is very scary and when i do wake up i am usually covered in sweat and shaking. I think you are right though it usually only happens when i watch a scary movie or if i am worried about something bad happening.

Are There Any Bad Churches
As a safe rule of thumb, switch churches.
Most churches are infiltrated by the Jesuits and are part of the ecumenical movement to units religion under the pope. Most ignore the issue of Bible versions.
Peter says definitively that there will be false teachers, as did Jesus

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
False prophets are:
Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
2Peter2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies...

Fiery Stones In Eden
you're getting all mixed up because you are using corrupt translations.

the KJV says
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God, every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

"every precious stone", not "fiery stones".
"was they covering" not "you gaurded"
