Lisa, Scripture instructs us to use "righteous judgment". The 5th chapter of 1 Corinthians, tells us that the elders of the church are to judge fellow believers and to remove any wicked men from the church. Paul goes on to write that we God will judge those outside the church, inferring that we are to judge those within it. I think that the problem comes when we do not judge "righteously" or when we confuse style with substance. Gene was insulted when Dr. Jeremiah taught on tithing. Since we are to teach the whole counsel of God, tithing would need to be included. Most of the complaints against him seem to be "style" and opinion. Compare his teachings to the Bible. Everything else is just "fluff". |
