Story Of The Virgin Mary
Mima, Mary is the daughter of Her owen Son.

I fully agree with that statement.

Duane, there are lots of things the Bible doesn't mention but that does not mean they did not happen.

What's missing in the Bible, I'd take it from Tradition.

Some of you guys keep saying "false" that it became your signature tune when you refer to Catholics.

Alan, if someone leads a bad life, then that person is not a true Catholic or true Protestant.

S/he may be classified as Catholic but a bad Catholic.

Story Of The Virgin Mary
How important is for our salvation whether Mary remained Virgin or not?

We Catcholics believe she did, others don't. Why do we keep arguing about it for years and years?

Mary remained exactly as God wanted Her to remain.

Warwick said: "You are free to believe whatever you like. But you disclose your hand, doubting the authenticity of the Bible, seemingly placing human tradition above it!"

Ruben did not say that. He said we believe in both.

The Bible is very incomplete and what's missing in it we search for it in tradition.

Miche, please do not call it "false". You can simply say you disagree.

The RCC is trying to lead its members to Christ and a lot of what many say here is a grave insult to all of us.

Alan, Catholic Baptism makes a person a Catholic but it's up to the individual if he wants to remain a true Catholic by living a good, law abiding person.

He can be a "true" Catholic but not a good Catholic.

Natalie said: "All the Protestants who accept my invitation to come to Mass are SO SHOCK to hear how MUCH the Bible is read."

Please allow me to elaborate.

In the Mass we have 1st and 2nd reading. These are from anywhere from the Old or New Testament.

Then we have the Gospel: Only Gospel tracts are read in this part and then a sermon dealing with the Gospel selection is given.

During the Mass, Christ is glorified abundantly and several prayers are recited including the "Our Father".

At the end of the Mass, the celebrant invokes the Peace of the Lord upon those present.

Miche, even as we believe, Mary was sinless, it was Christ who made Her so so, yes, He is Her Savior plus He is Her Son.

Did you expect Mary to go on a stage declaring she's sinless? She was very humble - Ecce ancilla Domini - Behold the servant of the Lord.

How could Christ start His earthly life in the womb of a sinful person?

She lived with Christ all His life - don't you think He had a strong influence on Her? She was the luckiest person on earth but She also suffered a lot when She saw Her ever loving Son treated the way He was treated. She suffered enormously.

Story Of The Virgin Mary
Wayne, Catholics believe we can ask Mary to pray for us - Protestants don't. We interpet it one way and you another.

Do we have to agree with you in order to be right?

Once upon a time Luther decided to change things around. He had good reason to rebel THEN but he should not have been such a rebel and change things just to challenge the Pope.

There had been much smarter people than Luther in the Catholic Church.

Big problem is that you have been injected with hatred against us and that IS A SIN against God's Commandments.

Mima, the quotes you provided do not answer the question you asked about Paul's statement.

The Bible does not contain all the events that happened and I believe in Tradition as long as it does not deny what the Bible says.

Even St Paul stated we should believe Scriptures and Tradition.

Tons of events are missing from the Books so yes, I accept Tradition when it speaks about events not included in the Bible.

Sola Scriptura people are half blind - they refuse to accept whatever is not in the Bible and the Bible does not include everything.

Nandipa, keep your relationship and attend some of the functions of the RCC and eventually, you'll find the truth.

Hold on to that guy.

Story Of The Virgin Mary
When someone says the RCC does not teach what's in the Bible, they are stating that they have no clue what the RCC preaches and teaches. They also indicate their brainwashing - they simply say it because they've heard it million times from their pastors.

Those who want to make sure, should attend some functions of our Church and then decide if it is against the Bible or not.

Some of you are a hopeless case.

Story Of The Virgin Mary
First of all let's say that the Bible is not a straight forward book and not everyone can just grab a copy and interprets it as he wishes. This is the Protestant way>

The RCC is prudent. It let's highly qualified people to study and interpret the Bible and puts down the rules of interpretation so there will be ONE interpretation and not thousands of them>

The Pope doesn't change the Bible but supports its true meaning.

Fiance Isn't a Strong Christian
Barbara, I would ignore all the negative "advices".

Not sure what you mean by on fire for Jesus. If you like to yell and wave your hands and scream Alleluia, then it won't be easy to find the "right" partner. I don't do those things but I love Jesus just the same.

Be careful. Your fiance might be a bit shy but inside he may be a very good Christian.

Does God Provide For Us
2 of 2: A few months later, the preacher stops by again to call on the farmer. Lo and behold, it's like a completely different place--the farm house is completely rebuilt and in excellent condition, there are plenty of cattle and other livestock happily munching on feed in well-fenced pens, and the fields are filled with crops planted in neat rows.

"Amazing!" the preacher says. "Look what God and you have accomplished together!"

"Yes, reverend," says the farmer, "but remember what the farm was like when God was working it alone!"

Fiance Isn't a Strong Christian
I find Dawn's advice very prudent.

Many here seem to judge very fast without knowing all the story behind a case.

Fiance Isn't a Strong Christian
Susie said: "Christians do not live like the Devil during the week and serve the Lord on Sundays."

How do you know he lives like the devil during the week? Couldn't it be that Barbara is a bit too fanatic and that her fiance is more normal?
