End-Time Alien Delusion

kathr4453:

Yes. New citizens are required to pass a civics test to show that they know the law and the Constitution, and they are required to swear an oath that includes "I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic".

Members of Congress, the President, and other similar officials must also swear a similar oath, but aren't required to know civics - which is absurd. How can you defend and uphold a Constitution if you don't even know what it says?

Natural-born citizens aren't required to do either. It's sad how many have no clue about what the Constitution requires, or allows. (As a green card holder, I also had to swear a similar oath).

kathr4453:

Better: I wish all who *hold public office* be required to pass a basic civics test. Lawyers can't practice law and doctors can't perform surgery without appropriate schooling, yet there are NO qualifications for lawmakers, and as a result, many of them have a lot of grandiose ideas, but virtually no idea about what the constitution and existing laws allow, as they attempt (and sometimes succeed) to pass ludicrous laws that can't pass constitutional muster. Also, those in the executive branch who break federal laws by acting in constitionally prohibited ways.

(It is charitable to assume they just don't know the law. It's much more damnable if they DO know it, but just don't care - which also happens sometimes).

The insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 brought a GALLOWS with them, specifically to hang Mike Pence. These people thought they were patriots, working on behalf of their country - by violating the Constitution, overthrowing a breaking laws, committing vandalism, desecration, theft, and attempted murder - all in the name of Patriotism. Let that sink in.

And they think Pence is a traitor, because Trump ordered him to do something blatantly unconstitutional - and Pence said NO (although whether it was due to loyalty to the Constitution, or concern for his own neck, we will probably never know).

New book: "President Donald J. Trump, The Son of Man - The Christ" by Helgard Mueller:

Intro: "During the presidency of President Donald Trump, it became evident to me that the prophecies about the Son of Man, as predicted by Jesus in the Bible were, to a significant extent, fulfilled at the hands of Mr Trump. ..."

Strong delusion, thinking a man who lies constantly, cheats on all his wives and most of his contractors, and defrauds charities, is God's Chosen!

At 2020 RNC, someone brought a golden idol of Trump, and some were kneeling to it. That Christians didn't see the parallel with Israel's Golden Calf boggles the mind.

Interpret The Bible

JS1234:

The First Amendment lets one believe what one wants, and say what one wants (with certain obvious exceptions), but it does NOT let one force those beliefs on others - as that would interfere with THEIR free exercise.

Unfortunately, the Church is made of fallible men, with imperfect interpretations. Christian history is full of blood, as men conquered, pillaged, and slaughtered with Church approval. Several centuries are called "The Dark Ages" - because the Church stifled free thought and imposed its own idea of truth with an iron fist.

Simon_Thomas:

What makes you think that the antichrist will be an "alien"? Nothing in Scripture supports this. What other source are you getting that from?

In a broader sense, Jesus said that his kingdom is NOT of this world. In the sense that "alien" means "not of this world", Jesus and angels could be considered aliens too - especially considering Ezekiel's terrifying description of what angels look like.

Every generation had its favorite explanation for things that couldn't be explained. In the dark ages, it was devils and witches. In the 19th century, it was fairies. In the early 20th century, it was bigfoot. Today it's aliens. It's always something just beyond our field of understanding.

kathr4453:

Jesus told us to "make disciples of all nations". The way you make someone a disciple is to show that you have something desirable, to make them WANT to learn from you. Forcing your theology down other people's throats isn't turning them into disciples - it's turning them into slaves. This is what Dominionists want - to establish a Kingdom of God on earth, and force everyone else to live in it. This is diametrically opposed to what Jesus wanted, as he came to break bonds and free captives. He said his kingdom is NOT of this world, but unfortunately, many of his followers seem to think they know what he wants better than he himself does.

kathr4453:

The Brothers Karamazov has a sub-story The Grand Inquisitor. Jesus returns during the Inquisition, heals the sick, is arrested for heresy. The Inquisitor says he was foolish to reject Satan's offer of temporal power - a mistake the Church corrected. Feed men, control their conscience, and rule the world. It ruled the world in the name of God, using Satan's principles.

Sadly, Dominionist Christians fall to the same temptation - abandon everything Jesus taught to gain worldly power to forcibly create what they think is the Kingdom of God - but is really the Kingdom of Satan. This is the same mistake Catholic Europe made when it murdered and pillaged "heathen" countries in the name of Christ.

kathr4453:

Trump has continously lied about the election being stolen, and encouraged the Capitol assault. As a result, several people died.

Trump claimed legal FBI warrants on Mar a Lago were persecution. As a result, Ricky Shiffer attacked FBI Cincinnati office, and died.

Trump long knew his lies were getting people killed, but he doesn't care. While not murder, that definitely qualifies as manslaughter - exhibiting a depraved indifference to human life that gets people killed.

Hosea 4:6: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee". This is what happens to people who reject truth and willingly embrace the lie.

kathr4453:

Exactly! Recent people rejecting rule of law and choosing violence:
- Trump pushing the lie that the election was stolen, even though he KNEW it wasn't, and all those close to him KNEW it wasn't - causing thousands to storm the capitol to try to overthrow a lawful election.
- Trump holding on to classified document, in violation of a subpoena - so when a warrant is issued, Trump claims he's being persecuted, and one of his supporters tried to storm an Ohio FBI office (and died in the attempt).
- Government officials trying to uphold the law, and getting death threats - from outraged Trump supporters.

While claiming to be Republicans, that claims to be a party of Law and order, the people above respected neither.

You wrote: You must be talking about Biden and his NAZI speech (as we Americans call it). Never has a US President made such a dark and incendiary speech. The left seems to be trying to provoke a civil war.

You have a short memory. Trump made similar speeches all the time about Democrats. Republicans have been calling Democrats socialists, communists, devil-worshipers, and worse.

Yet again, remove the beam from your own house before criticizing the speck in others'.

Not "people who want to make America great". They claim that, but look at the facts. They praise white nationalism and xenophobia, want to suppress media, force religious laws on others. These are literally things fascists do.

Many conservatives complain this country is drifting far away from the Founding Fathers' vision, yet they ignore what the Founding Fathers actually said about their vision.

James Madison wrote:

"The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe with blood for centuries."

Europe was constantly plagued by bloody religious persecution, holy wars (The Crusades, the Inquisition, conquest of the Americas) and the Founding Fathers tried something new: keeping government out of religion (and vice versa) would spare us from all that bloodshed. Sadly, many today want to go back to those "good old days". Sigh.

Before critizing others' brainwashing, examine your own first.

Most Christians (Catholic and Protestant alike) hold Sunday sacred. If Evangelical Dominionists succeed in turning America into a theocracy, THEY will impose Sunday rule, not Catholics. The left has nothing to do with this, as imposing ANY kind of holy day (Sunday, Saturday, or even Islamic Friday) is establishment of religion, violating the First Amendment.

Trump encouraged his followers to stage a coup and assault the Capitol. He illegally kept classified documents, including NUCLEAR SECRETS, in his home for a year and a half after being out of office. But sure, keep right on believing the left is undermining America but he's not.

Sometimes, people reject a message because the message is true, and the people are stiff-necked.
On the other hand, sometimes people reject a message because they are wise, and the message is wrong or heretical. Unfortunately, people who bring messages usually assume they are right, and that all those who reject the message are wrong - and rarely ever consider that they THEMSELVES may be wrong, and the message they are bringing is wrong.

This is self-delusion. We are warned against this. We are told to test every spirit to see if it is from God. We are told to use discernment, to "search the scriptures daily to see if these things be so", and not be carried away on every wind of doctrine.

What Is The Perfect Law

Samuelbb7:

Jesus pointed out the Two Most Important Laws: love God, and love your neighbor. If you keep the first, you don't NEED separate rules to tell you to avoid worshiping other gods, worshiping idols, or taking God's name in vein. Note that when asked what the most important laws were, he didn't quote the Ten Commandments.

If you keep the second, you don't NEED separate rules to tell you to avoid murder, adultery, theft, perjury, and jealousy, and to respect your parents.

All of these things were wrong long before Moses received the tablets, and they will continue to be wrong even to those to whom The Law does not apply.

Explain Matthew 28:20

more_excellent_way:

In Ukrainian, "wormwood" is "Chernobyl". After the reactor meltdown, much of Europe's water (and agricultural products) were tainted with radioactive fallout. Some people thought this related to Revelation, but we know 1/3 of the things in the earth didn't die.

People always read between the lines, examining prophecy in light of current events and technology, or trying to retroactively make it fit history. We see the same with prognosticators like Nostradamus. Such attempts are usually naive, and almost always doomed to failure. When things happen, they will happen. Just make sure that you're busy doing your work, rather than being part of the problem.

What Is The Perfect Law

more_excellent_way:

We no longer NEED the Ten Commandments to tell us what not to do - because if we love God, we already won't have any other gods before him, we won't take his name in vain, and we won't worship graven images.

If we love our neighbors, we already won't kill them, steal from them, lie about them, or cheat on them.

And there are many other bad things that we also shouldn't do that aren't explicitly mentioned in the Ten Commandments, but loving God and our neighbor will make sure we don't do them anyway.

Are You Stiff-necked

Samuelbb7:

Everyone needs to have their priorities. Georgia Republican candidate Kandiss Taylor's slogan is "Jesus, Guns, Babies" - in that order.

So here is yet another ardent pro-Life candidate who loves life, but loves instruments of death more - and there are many people who would agree with her. So many on the right are deeply confused about their priorities.

Are You Stiff-necked

kathr4453:

It's sad so many people are this gullible while claiming to be Christians. The Bible says be vigilant, test the spirits to see if they are from God, search the scriptures daily to see if these things are so, study to show ourselves approved, be wise as serpents as gentle as doves, and all truth is established by two or three witnesses.

Instead, they believe every uncorroborated rumor, conspiracy theory, and wind of doctrine. They are as wise and gullible as sheep. Most never read the Bible.

Many (including Trump) follow prosperity preacher Paula Jones who said if anyone tells you to deny yourself, they're from Satan. Jesus said his followers would deny themselves, take up their crosses, and follow him.
