Any Thoughts On Cremation
I believe that cremation is up to the individual. It does seem more sanitary and space saving to me. Won't we all be cremated in the end when the Earth burns?! It won't matter if you're in a tomb or not.
This is what made my decision for cremation.

The Gift Of Healing
If you've truly received Jesus then you've received healing
Jesus healed He is the same so a christian without healing cannot be
It could be that they have not evercised their faith or that their not really a christian at all if they haven't experienced healing of some sort

How We Get Saved
Some people believe that when Jesus said you must be born again of water and the spirit to enter the kingdom of God and beleive on Him to inherit eternal life that he left us to work out what that meant
This would have been very confusing and unfair but He left us with clear instructions and clear examples to follow.
He said in John 13,20 if we receive him who He sent (the Holy spirit John15,26) then we receive Him
On the day of Pentecost 120 people received the Holy Spirit and therefore received Jesus
Thet all spoke in tongues. When Peter was asked about tongues his reply was "this is it"
The Spirit prophesied by Joel (and Jesus)
This is being born again and the beginning of salvation

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Jude18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
There are mockers who call speaking in tongues gibberish when the Bible calls it praying in the Spirit (1 Corin 14,14)
The Bible calls these people sensual(or natural) Having not the Spirt (not saved)
So those of you reading this who do have the Spirit of God keep yourselves built up (by praying in tongues) and don't let natural people drag you down with their faithless ideas

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Mark I presume from your post that you have no evidence that the Corinthians and all Christians don't have all of the gifts

Maybe when the Bible says "God worketh all in all" "Ye are complete in Him" "You have all things pertaining to life and godliness" thats what it actually means

You have no evidence that Jesus changed His mind about the way He would give out the Holy Spirit and therefore change the way that a person would be saved since Acts

Jesus is the same. The Holy spirit is the same. I'm sorry that you can't see that

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Hi Michael and Mark please accept my apology for saying "and" in verse 5+6 was the same as in 8-10 I'm not sure what I did but I have definitely looked the wrong word up
In my other point Does verses 8-10 contradict and overide the plain statement made in verse 6 God works all (gifts ministrys and operations) in all

Do you have any evidence to show that verses 4-6 are wrong?
Is there an alternative explanation to what seems like a very clear and concise statement?
Again apologies about the errror I made in my previous post

How To Be Saved
sisst is correct what Peter said in Acts2,38 is a summary of all the things Jesus was talking about in the gospels concerning salvation.
People can argue about did Jesus say this to us (people today) or only to the disciples The point is if you obey Acts2,38 it fulfils John3,5 Acts1,8 John14,15 John7,37-39 and many other scriptures
When you receive the Holy Spirit you receive every spiritual blessing Eph1,3 including tongues Acts2,4 God's love Romans5,5 Power Acts1,8
All the gifts 1 Corinthians12,4-6 and All things pertaining to life and godliness 2Peter1,3 Including grace, righteousness and eternal life which are all part of the promise of the Father Acts1,4-5

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
1Cor12,4-6 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. AND there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. AND there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
The word "to" in v8-10 is translated "and" or "also" in 8687 out of the 8901 times (including v5 & 6)that the greek word is translated
If you substitute in the correct meaning you will see that it is a list of attributes which are part of the Holy Spirit which "God worketh all in all"
Paul did not want us to be ignorant of this fact 1Corinthians12,1 We are complete in Him if we have the Holy Spirit Romans8,9

Baptism Of The Holy Spirit
Mrs Morgan is correct Jesus didnt promise a 2 stage salvation Neither do we read about 2 types of Christians One with the power and one without. This is just a false doctrine to match in with peoples preconceived ideas and not what Jesus promised
The Holy spirit is the seal (God's signature) of our salvation Ephesians1,13-14
which the Ephesians received in Acts19,6
prior to that they beleived in their own strength but had not yet received the faith of Jesus which made them into true believers and God's love was then poured out in their hearts Romans5,5

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
You havent provided a use by date on Jesus words because there is none.
Jesus plainly says rhat beleivers (not just Himself or the disciples) woukd do greater works than He did
Millions of people worldwide have spoken in tongues when they asked God for the Holy Spirit and there is proof that it is good and from God Jesus said so.
Luke11,12-13 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Mark the onus is on you therefore to prove that these things are as you say

How To Be Saved
Miche Yes your right i do beleive in Jesus the man and what He said sorry if I didn't make that clear
Michael Before i respond to your last 2 posts do you believe in what Jesus said or not?

Do you beleive you have to ask for the Holy Spirit? Luke 11,13

Do you beleive believers will do greater works than Jesus? John 14,12

Do you beleive a person needs to be born of water and the Spirit to see or enter the Kingdom of God? john3,3-5

These are just 3 examples of what Jesus said which are particularly relevant to believing.

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Mark where does Jesus say you need documentation to prove faith?
Where does Jesus say that the time of healings and miracles and john14,12 has a use by date?

How To Be Saved
Do we need to beleive in Jesus the Man or beleive what he said? I beleive in what He said.
John13,20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me
(see also John15,26)
I beleive Jesus when He said You have to ask for the Holy Spirit Luke 11,8,13
I beleive Jesus when Hesaid in Mark16,16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe, In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues,

How To Be Saved
Hi Mark perhaps my question was unclear What I meant in the context of the discussion is where does it say that thw Holy Spirit indwells a person automatically on belief?

Answer it doesn't Jesus said you had to ask for it Luke11,13

The scripture you quoted Ezekiel36,27 is speaking of the same Spirit which Joel spoke of.
Of which Peter said when asked about tongues "this is it" but which you say this isn,t it

How To Be Saved
Hi Jody and Mark
Where does it say the holy Spirit indwells all who beleive?
In Axts19:2-5 Beleibers did not have the Holy Spirit Nor in Acts8,12-16
Jesus said you had to ask for the Holy Spirit and in the parable about asking for food in the middle of the night ask persistently until you get it not just ask a couple of times and pre sume you have it (Luke11,5-13 jody if your friends folowed Jesus advice from Luke 11 they too could have their own Pentecostal experience
Incudently Mark beleives all modern rongues to be gibberish and not legitimate
tongues is not a work its a miracle from Jesus like what Jesus did on the sabbath

How To Be Saved
Michael I am going to agree with your previous posts. You said you believe it is different for us than it was in the so called apostolic era I believe "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." Romans8,11
I know I have this Spirit because i speak in tongues the same as the apostles. And I know if you were to ask for the Holy Spirit you also would have this experience when you received and you would then know for yourself that the apostolic era has not passed.
But according to you this Spirit is no longer available so i guess this promise does not apply to you.

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Mark ! commend you for what you are trying, however Jesus said that before a person was to preach they needed receive the power of the Holy Spirit Acts 1,4 & 8 I know this is problematic for you because you beleive it's no longer available and also because of what seems like false doctrine which you heard when you were in a pentecostal church. however not all Pentecostal church preach false doctrine and the power of the Holy Spirit with tongues as promised by the prophet joel who links the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with the return of the Lord In other words the outpouring of the Holy Spirit will continue until the Lord returns in power and glory
I pray that one day you will receive this blessing and then you will know for yourself

How To Be Saved
Richard according to your "disapproving of tongue speaking" post you have received the baptism of the holy Ghost Which was prophesied by Solomon Prov1,23 Isaiah 11,2 32,15 44,3 Ezekiel 11,9 18,31 36,26-27 37,14 Joel 2,28 Zechariah 12,10 John the Baptist Mat3,11 Mark1,8 Luke 3,16 and John1,33 and of course Jesus many times John3,5 John7,37-39 John13,20 John14,26 and John 15,26

Nowhere is Romans 10,9 prophesied in the old testament and apart from that fact it was written to people already saved
Believe means to trust rely and adhere to not just acknowledge
And confess comes from a Greek word homologia which means to say the same thing as

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Thanks for your concern I have another question?
How do you know that you have received power when the Holy Ghost came upon you?
